Butterfly Room

Butterfly room (Toddlers: 18 months /2 years - 2.5 years / 3 years)

During this very exciting stage, your child is becoming increasingly aware of their surroundings and the impact they can have on it. While your child is in this room, we help develop the routines that will promote independence and set them up for life. For example, we will work closely with you to identify when there are signs your child is ready to start potty training.

We have introduced a circle time into our Butterfly room, where we listen to a short story or do some singing. Children are beginning to show a desire to be independent, so we start to encourage your child to wash their hands, put their own shoes/coat on and even tidy up! We encourage lots of sharing at this age too!

This is the stage your child’s personality and preferences start come into their own and we work with them to help them decide what they would like to explore and learn. There is plenty on offer to support this including painting, drawing, sticking, sand and water play, as well as access to the garden where they can play with the outdoor kitchen, ride on the bikes and trikes or do some gardening.
